Additional Enrichment Activities
There are many ways outside of school sponsored activities that can contribute to a well rounded child.
While these activities typically take place on school grounds, these are not sponsored by Portland Public Schools and often have fees.
Before and After Care
Camp Fire Columbia is a non-profit organization contracted with Portland Public Schools to provide flexible before and after care for all grades. Aftercare is available until 6 pm. Click here for more information and to register online
S.U.N. Classes
SUN Community Schools offer opportunities that support healthy child and youth development and family stability. At SUN Community Schools, the collective efforts of youth, parents, businesses, faith communities, libraries, and community organizations create a network of supports that ensure youth academic success and that communities thrive.
SUN programs are open to all ages, with a focus on students in the immediate school community.

M.U.S.E. Band
If you are in the 4th and 5th grades and want to join the band please visit www.museband.com. You can register and rent an instrument directly from the website. We will accept new students until the end of September. No experience is necessary. If you would like to speak to Mr. Johnston directly, you can reach him at musejohnston@gmail.com
Past Activities
Chess Club
We are working with the Chess for Success organization to bring their program to our school. The program includes a chess curriculum, paid coach, entrance to the Chess for Success tournaments, and a t-shirt and chess set for every child. Tournament season is January to March.

Yoga Playgrounds
In these fun and engaging classes, kids will stretch and energize their bodies and minds through individual and group poses, mindfulness games and creative relaxation techniques. Packed with playfulness, positivity and fun, these classes give kids the tools they need to manage their behaviors to lead happier, healthier and more peaceful lives.
