Rose City Park Elementary needs your help volunteering during the 2022-23 school year!
Volunteers can be family, friends or community members who have a desire to help at RCP. Take a look at the current school and PTO volunteer opportunities below and sign up to help.
PPS Volunteer Background Check
Before volunteering inside the school building during school hours, please complete the PPS volunteer application process. PPS requires a background check once every 3 years. To check if your volunteer status is up to date, please contact the school.
Current School Volunteer Needs
Safety Patrol, Morning Office Helper, Breakfast, Lunch, and Recess Support
Help provide coverage support for the school commute safety patrol teams, morning office help, breakfast, lunch, and recess periods.

Special Call for Volunteers to Support Reading Groups in Vietnamese and English
We’re currently recruiting parent volunteers to lead small reading groups with students in English and Vietnamese on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are no specific skills or teaching experience required- just a desire to read with kids! We will provide training, guided support and all the materials you need to be successful. If you are interested in volunteering or in learning more, please reach out to volunteering@rosecityparkpto.org.
School Special Event Helpers
Help with special school run events on an as needed basis

Art Classroom Helpers
Support the art teacher, Pao Vang, by assisting in the art classroom

Garden School Classroom Helpers
Support Garden Teacher, Kelsi Herman, and RCP teachers by assisting in garden classes (e.g. help fill watering cans, keeping kids safe at digging bed, help kids focus on scavenger hunt or worksheets as needed, help plant seeds, assist with apple tasting, etc.)

Read for the Roses Prize Volunteers
Help hand out prizes for students during the Read for the Roses event

New Staff Support Committee
We are seeking volunteers for this new committee to show our appreciation of all the staff does for RCP

Activities include hosting monthly coffee/tea/treats, enhancing the staff lounge, and planning luncheons. We are open to new ideas as well!
