PTO News 12/7/18

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

Happy Holidays from your Rose City Park PTO! We have been hard at work, planning some great community events for next year and looking for new ways to support our students and teachers. And our ability to do that is thanks to you - the Rose City Park community - and your generosity of time, money, and spirit. Our super fun and successful RCP After Dark raised $3,580! And our Chinook Book sale raised $535. Because of your support we will be able to provide our teachers and staff with extra money for class materials to support our students. Thank you.

Remember, PTO meetings are open to any RCP parent, teacher, or staff member who wishes to attend. There is no other membership requirement. We look forward to seeing you at our next general meeting February 27.

Have a safe and happy winter break!

Keep collecting those bottles and cans! We will be having another Blue Bag Drop at school January 17 after school. Grab a blue bag from the office before break starts so you can collect all those beverage containers over the holidays. If you won't be at school, message Tricia leighleialoha@hotmail.com with your child's name and room number and she will stick a blue bag in your child's take home box.

We are collecting socks and underwear for the Portland PTA Clothing Center. If you can, please donate brand new socks and underwear size 4T - adult for students of all ages who need them and give them a clean start to their school day. The donation basket is in the hall near the top of the west entrance stairs. Get your kids involved, they love to help others!

Speaking of getting your kids involved, they are really good at cutting out box tops. The next Box Tops expiration date is Dec 31st. Please be sure to turn in what you've got before winter break. The collection can is outside the office near the north entrance. Thanks!

Interested in helping raise money for RCP?  Do you like events and want to get involved in a fun activity to help bring more resources to our school?  We're forming a committee to put together the 1st annual RCP Auction - and we need your help.

Informational meeting will be held on Wednesday December 12th at 8:15am in the cafeteria.  Come and learn about all the possible jobs and share your ideas. Contact scotti_c@yahoo.com for more info

Is your student missing a coat?  Or a hat or their lunch box? Check the RCP Lost and Found.  All lost and found items are located in the basement on the North end of the building near the Kindergarten classrooms.  All remaining items left at winter break will be donated.

Are you looking for after school activities for your student next semester? Check out these two options.
